In our hostel schickSAAL*, which opened in May 2019, we can offer you affordable accommodation on three floors in the middle of Lübeck’s old town.

With prices ranging from 29,50€ per night in a backpacker 11-bed room to 86€ per night for a private double room to 164€ per night for the whole private four-bed room, there is something for everyone. From 3 nights it’s getting cheaper (reduced cleaning and laundry costs as well as less personnel costs)!

What you can expect – the house

We have renovated the house ourselves and all rooms have been individually designed by us with a lot of love. This, as well as the history of the street, brings a very special flair to our house.

Your bed is freshly made at check-in. You can also get a fresh towel for a small donation. In addition to the cozy rooms, there are nice communal washrooms and toilets as well as a kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas stove, microwave, an oven and a fridge, so you can easily care for yourself. An exchange library rounds off this communal space and invites you to linger and browse.

Included in your overnight stay is a basic muesli breakfast (also vegan). If you don’t always want to cater for yourself, you can get a delicious breakfast in our café Wednesdays to Sundays from 09⁰⁰ for a fair price. There is also a brunch buffet on the first Sunday of the month between 10⁰⁰ and 14:00, so pay once and eat your fill. Outside of breakfast time, our in-house café invites you to linger from Wednesday to Sunday with coffee specialties, homemade cakes, our popular snacks, soft drinks and more.

Additionally at Schicksaal*:

Our café is open all day and from Thursday till Saturday you can hang out in our pub. This way your stay in Lübeck will become an extraordinary experience. Right in front of our doors you will find Lübeck’s most vibrant pub street with the four pubs “unklar”, “Blauer Engel”, “Professor Unrat” and “No. 12”. For this reason we installed sound-insulated windows so that you still get a good night sleep . If you take a look at our event calendar you will be well informed about upcoming concerts, readings and so on, so that you can adjust accordingly.

The surroundings of our hostel

The famous old town of Lübeck with its beautiful narrow alleys and inner courtyards as well as the well-known Christmas market of Lübeck are in walking distance of our hostel. Close by you can also find the hanseatic museum of Lübeck which is a perfect trip especially for rainy days. The “treibSAND” with diverse concerts as well as Lübeck´s music and congress hall “MUK” and the city theatre hall are just 2 minutes away from us. Also, for the numerous visitors of the Nordic film days in Lübeck our hostel is the perfect fit.
